What is a Mothers Blessing?
Some pregnant women in our society hold a baby shower to celebrate their pregnancy. In Native American culture, they celebrate the transition from maiden to motherhood with a ceremony known as a Blessingway. It is a time when the mother to be is honoured and nurtured by her community of women. A Mothers Blessing is inspired from the Native American Blessingway and the emphasis is on supporting, honouring and nurturing each mother to be. It also incorporates fun activities such as belly casting and making a birthing necklace to highlight the beauty and strength of each woman.

"Just as a tree grows best when anchored firmly in the earth,
so can a pregnant mother feel strong and capable when supported by a sisterhood of nurturing friends."
